On
the southwest bank of Lake MacLeod, the Boathouse stands as a centerpiece
of the community. This 1,200 sq. foot facility is a resource for
the residents of Lake MacLeod, and its first purpose is to serve
as a showcase for state-of-the-art home building, a resource to
learn about building design, technologies and materials.
The Boathouse building showcase is a partnership
among the developers, manufacturers, and installers that demonstrates
the possibilities available to the custom home market. Every component
of the Boathouse represents the best thinking in new home construction.
From the PSL foundation, composite deck and SIPS envelope to the
metal roof, every aspect of this building has been built with industry
leading technologies. Often, such new home building materials are
cost prohibitive. So all the technologies demonstrated here were
chosen because they are price competitive with the materials they
replace.
Home buyers are welcome to use the Boathouse as
a learning center to see these and other products in place. Literature,
samples and audio-visual information are available on participating
manufactures, and an Internet-connected workstation provides easy
access to each showcase manufacturer's Web site. And, of course,
the Lake MacLeod customer assistance team is on site to point you
in the right direction.
